Okay all, let's take this in a different direction. Where do you come up with your ideas for your books?

Mine come from something I see. It may be just a little news item or more specifically from a nifty locale. I fit my story around the locale mostly. I just got back from Alaska where I did that. Carol

My ideas come from the newspaper, TV, magazines, real life. A visit to Charleston, SC, sparked the idea for one of my novels. Another has horses and dogs, based (sort of) on some of our animals. Actually, two stories have animals. Historical places are inspiration as well.

My ideas usually come from a flash of something that I see and then I start to wonder "What if" or "What would happen if". My stories are more plot driven but the relationship of my characters becomes just as important to me.

Usually mine come from an event or maybe just a picture in a newspaper. I imagine the person in the picture in trouble and how my main character could get them some help. Then when I think I have them in serious trouble I think of how it could be worse and there I go.
