Nancy here again!
Just sent the inlaws home and am still unpacking boxes. Yesterday I got a manuscript back that had been at a publisher (NOT WIngs!) for two years. By this time I'd already figured out that they didn't want it and actually figured they'd lost it somehow as even a letter I wrote six months after mailing it remains unanswered.
Nope, the rejection isn't so much of a surprise; just getting the darn thing back is a surprise - of course, paying the $1.42 postage due wasn't the best part!
The rejection letter said that the lighthearted contemporary romance was too tame for them. Sigh.
