I agree with the sentiments expressed about heroines. It's surprising in today's supposedly liberated age, how many romances still feature heroines being overpowered by dominant men. We know men are usually physically stronger, but how many of us enjoy being put at a physical disadvantage by them? I certainly don't.
I'm not necessaily a fan of the tough-girl heroine, although she fits some stories, but she must have self-respect and meet the hero on equal terms.

This is an excellent and succinct post.
The best relationships, in my opinion, are ones where each participant brings valuable (and complementary) strengths to the table (or, in the case of great stories, to the page).
